I am a chartered Counselling Psychologist, with a special interest in anxiety and trauma. I am accredited as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and qualified in Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, EMDR and Internal Family Systems.

As a chartered Counselling Psychologist, I work to the stringent code of ethics and practice of the British Psychological Society (BPS). I am also accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and I am registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC). In addition, I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

In my work as a Counselling Psychologist I keep an open mind and pay close attention to new developments and current debates in the field. I have a particular interest in the effects and treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and developmental trauma. This has led me to obtain qualification in EMDR, recommended in the NICE guidelines as an effective short-term trauma intervention. I have also qualified in Internal Family Systems (level 1). This is one of the approaches that emerged from the rich and innovative field of trauma studies in the USA. Related models, which I have also studied in depth, are those by Janina Fisher, Pat Ogden, Peter Levine and Daniel Siegel.

I have a wide range of interests, including a passion for literature and the arts. I practice Yoga and mindfulness meditation which I have studied at Post graduate level and which both informs my work and helps me remain steady and focused.
